I was laid off in Jan 2023. I FINALLY found a contract role in late August after EDD was exhausted. I was feeling great.
This morning I got a call at 8am while brushing my teeth. I came to find out my contract was terminated effective immediately because the product I was working on was being shut down. Like I thought it was just me at first until I found out it's the ENTIRE product. So here comes another few hundred people looking for jobs (if not more).
I felt like I had just gotten a lifeline and my bank account was going up again. Now nothing. I don't even know if I get unemployment. If I do, I don't even if I'll get the full amount.
Sorry for the rant/vent. But I'm just like… WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. F%&K!!!!!!!
