I can afford a gap in my resume – do I quit?

I work for a tech company, and have been here for 2 years and a month now. I am lucky enough to be completely financially independent (not through any means of my own; inheritance). I LOVED my job when I first started. I had a great boss, but he left in April–I was put in charge of my dept. After that, everything started going downhill. 2 of our highest performers left due to sexism in the workplace, and then the owner made us remove all the Pride Month swag because it “disrespected his values”. I LOVED my job when I first started. I had a great boss, but he left in April–I was put in charge of my dept. After that, everything started going downhill. 2 of our highest performers left due to sexism in the workplace, and then the owner made us remove all the Pride Month swag because it “disrespected his values”. I know I can afford a gap in my resume, but I am so terrified to pull the trigger. I see posts everyday about how hard it is to find a job right now–and I am the kind of person who NEEDS to work to remain sane. I have a degree from a top school and still run a consulting company on the side, and I have a standing offer from a connection (altho it's for a govt. position, so it's not something where they can just create a role for me, so it's a waiting game)–but I think I am struggling to decondition myself from “be thankful for the opportunity, don't quit out of spite, keep your head down, be grateful you even have a job”.

I would lovvveeeee any motivation to help me quit this god awful place and go travel Europe while waiting for another opportunity
