I am not sure I am in the right subreddit.
I just quit. I was planning to stay the 2 weeks for courtesy, as I am in a right to work state (WI). But bleeegh
My boss said: You do not tell me anything in a meeting, or I will say no. If you want something, you need to tell me privately.
My boss said: I think you should be director once I retire, you should come to all the networking events with me… but when I went I was just like a very old and very weird arm candy.
He yelled at me and the other workers, and I got fucking tired. I got a new job.
I emailed the boss I quit using ChatGPT, lol. But the next day I told him in person. I had a recorder. He advised in my next job I should stay quiet and cute, especially if I am invited into any board meetings.
The weekend came and I came to work on Monday.
He asked me to stay and do a bunch of things to keep the place running for 2024 and 2025, which I did. But then he gave me more “advice”. He told me the place I am going to is really toxic and I should just shut up and look cute.
He gave me examples on how to be quiet: “Just say, I am new, I cannot give an opinion. or, I don´t know enough about this”
He told me no one wants my opinion, and no one wants change. I was very annoyed. I was tired and annoyed, but I didn't really registered that the asshole was like, literally, being unprofessional.
He has been so toxic that I just told some friends and they were shocked, shocked! that he would even dare say something like that.
I am just feeling tired.
He is wrong, right? His “advice” is just his asshole projecting?
