Just like to vent.
I accepted a position a few weeks ago, after searching for a job since March 2023. It’s not my most favorite, but hey it pays the bills while I look for something better/stronger career growth. (But hey, I got a raise so I can’t complain too much )
I had another interview, for a COMPLETELY different position, over a month ago that I assumed I never got past the first round which is fine.
I get a call last week inviting me to a second interview with them this week and I figured I would bite. However I told the recruiter, I’m out of town all week so I am unavailable for any interviews, but I’ll be back next week. She tells me that’s fine and she’ll be in touch.
Cue the game of phone tag I keep playing with her. Turns out the hiring manager is going out of town this weekend for a full week and they need to have candidates interview TODAY. I politely remind her I’m out of town this week and unable to meet with him (Hi. I’m eight hours away and on vacation) She proceeds to get huffy with me and tell me, “well we will keep you in mind for future opportunities. I know they are wanting to move forward with the position and interviews this week. If they haven’t made a decision by Monday I’ll keep you posted!”
Seriously lady? I’m out of TOWN and you know that.
Good thing I wasn’t desperate or I would have cussed her out
