Working In A Hospital Sucks

I used to work in fast food and as of nearly 3 years ago I made the move to a hospital position doing in-hospital transport. It’s an absurd amount of walking but you get used to it. The thing you never get used to however is the attitudes of others and higher positions looking down on you (no pun intended). It makes coming to work a drag unless you like to be talked down to and want to kiss up to everyone. In the past year I went from thinking this could lead to a real career to loathing my workplace. So many phony people and unless you have tons of schooling and/or certifications good luck moving up to a better position. Nurses can be completely disrespectful and will belittle you any chance they get. And if you’re a nurse the doctors will do just the same. There is TONS…

There is TONS of favoritism to the point that it feels like discrimination but HEAVEN FORBID you ever point that out.

Speaking of which: religion, like politics, should be a no-go in work environments and yet every day hyper-religious people there will push their Christianity down your throat and you’re supposed to just smile and agree. If you say ANYTHING about it your boss(es) will give you a warning. Like for what? Practicing my beliefs just as them? Simply makes no sense.

Oh and when it comes to pay nurses are given a little reminder in their bathrooms/break rooms on a bulletin board saying “it’s not about the pay, this is your purpose” blah blah they just don’t want the docs or CEOs to lose on their million dollar raises while the rest of the hospital suffers.

Just thought I’d share this little nugget as I prepare myself for another shit day. TGIF!
