Hey guys, never posted here before but I’ve been here a while…
I left my old job a few months ago because I worked abroad and decided it was time to return to the United States and thus I have been on the job hunt. Found the perfect job for me and did 5 interviews over the course of a month and a half with one being a 3 and a half hour case study. All went very well and they told me such.
After the long case study, they schedule a 5th interview where I ask them about the job and life there. It goes well or so they tell me. At the end they then say there will be a 6th interview with the head boss. And I am like okay… So, they ask if I have any any time or date restriction in the next week. And I tell them that there was a family bereavement and that I will have to travel outside the country for a week and will have limited availability but can still of course take the call. But once I said that they got all weird and acted like that was a problem. We then sign off and I send them a thank you email as I have done all the previous times. Yet, this time they don't respond to my thank you email. Then a week passes and then another half week and I hear nothing. Clearly, they are ghosting me. So, I check the job posting and it is closed. So, I email them asking for an update and they basically say its a competitive process and they went with someone else.
I poured so much time and effort into this. I can’t believe it. This job hunt has been really hard and I just am losing hope. I have now been unemployed for 3 months and am losing hope… I know 3 months is not a long time to some of you, but I am really now in need of work and some sort of income. This is just horrid and I feel like a bum. Rant over.
