My state is Right to Work/at will employment, my factory has become a sinking ship, and I’ve been taking online classes and gearing up for a career change. I’m trying to leave and trying to use up my vacation time in the process.
My options as I see them are like so:
A) The first day of my vacation I submit a two-week notice to attempt to “play nice”. Is there any recourse they can legally take? For instance fire me and refuse to give me vacation pay?
B) I go on vacation and never come back. Theoretically I’m a “bad guy” if I do that, fucks up using my boss as a reference perhaps. Is there any way they can try to refuse to pay my last week of vacation pay in that sense?
C) I come back from vacation, immediately tender resignation, leave two weeks later. Do it all as peachy as possible but telegraphing more, wasting time at this job I could use job hunting more, etc.
Thoughts and opinions would be appreciated
