I'm a public Librarian who works 3 part-time jobs. I work every other weekend at one Library and every 4 weeks at another (and sometimes fill in the 4th weekend) I have been essentially working 7 days a week since January. This year I did take some weekends off to attend 4 baby showers, go get married and do other wedding related events, and to attend my best friends wedding. I did not take a honeymoon. But because I'm requesting a few days off for holidays I'm now considered a “red flag” by one Library. I love what I do, and my community, but I believe community starts at home and I refuse to miss once in a lifetime events for my job. Sorry, not sorry.
