What’s up with indeed personality tests?

I've applied to two jobs through indeed which both required what I think are personality/work style tests. Both jobs I am definitely qualified for and they are both low wage jobs – farming/gardening work. I was annoyed to have to take the tests mainly because I felt like they were trick question type of tests and I could FEEL there were “right” answers and I'm sure I answered “wrong” but honestly couldn't say why besides “It just felt like a trap.” I found the questions bizarre and absurd and couldn't tell what I was being “assessed” for. Does anyone know if the employers choose for people to take these tests? Do they chose the questions? What are they assessing for? Do I automatically disqualify for a job if I answer certain questions certain ways? I actually felt afterward that I didn't want a low wage job where this nonsense was…

I actually felt afterward that I didn't want a low wage job where this nonsense was required. It made me feel like they have unrealistic expectations for minimum wage workers, which is something I've experienced in other farming/gardening jobs. It's such little work for hard labor and a lot of plant knowledge. But what they care about is if I'm a “rule follower”? I don't get it.

What insight do you all have?
