I've seen a few posts in this sub about workplaces attempting to drag their staff back into the office. But I have questions from a different perspective.
I'm diagnosed Autistic & ADHD, thus was able to have my contract changed to “remote” a few months ago, when I started sniffing out changes & predicted that this might happen.
But I'm so fucking angry for everyone else in my company. Especially the ones who live far away from the central London office (one of my coworkers lives in Glasgow, for Christ's sake). My company has benefitted from having, “office attendance voluntary” in their job ads for 3+ years, thus have have the pick of the crop due to having access to a HUGE candidate pool (not just limited to the central London area). How dare they pull an uno reverse card & think they'll retain these staff? People are gonna start quitting.
I know that a huge number of people I work with are utterly fuming over this, to put it lightly. I wanna do something to help.
Recently learned that we don't have a union.
My question(s) are: what can I do? How does one go about unionizing in the UK? What can I do to show upper management how buttfuck stupid they're being by doing this?
