I can’t find staff to stay but it’s not my business so why should I care?

Edited from a previously deleted post. I’m the general/operations manager/lead receptionist for a small business in a niche industry. Just like many, we’ve had issues with staffing for back and front of house. There’s a myriad of reasons, but partly is aside from my managerial role, there’s no advancement, no benefits, or room for growth for anyone else. The owner doesn’t see why offering medical benefits in a post Covid world is beneficial to creating staff longevity. My salary is barely cutting it for me to survive, and I’ve been looking for a new position for 7 months- in the meantime I still have a job to do and have to bring people in for a part -time receptionist role knowing they are going to be looking for something else. My salary is barely cutting it for me to survive, and I’ve been looking for a new position for 7 months- in the meantime I still have a job to do and have to bring people in for a part -time receptionist role knowing they are going to be looking for something else.

I am constantly training receptionists that don’t last or don’t do the job properly.
I can’t even take vacation for myself because we’re always “short at the desk”, but the owner is a globe trotter- and refuses to step in to cover desk shifts unless it’s an emergency.
The owner is failing to see an issue how a constant revolving door has lost her clients as well as breeding an environment where the one person who is invested can no longer be.

I’ve started to care less and less about the outcome of this business more and more, but in the meantime I’m still the one holding the bag and stuck until I find something else.

And to clarify- this is a small business. There is me-the manager/office manager/jack of all trades, the owner we all work for and who I directly report to, other receptionists I’m in charge of (yet doing their job as well), then the actual back of house (think of a personal service industry like hair stylists, massage therapists or nail technicians.)

I don’t foresee business being open much longer, but in the meantime I am stuck facilitating things without any true return back. Salary isn’t cutting the cost of living, I can’t even take care of myself health wise (can’t afford to), and there’s zero retirement being built.

But I should be glad I have a job I guess.
