Not just at my job, but work in general. I've been working in some sort of blue collar job (mostly retail) my entire adult life, despite me having a business degree. No job I've had has ever had any sort of real career path that might lead me towards any position related to my degree. I've been given a bunch of bullshit promises by my managers, but none of them have ever come to fruition.
I live in a high cost of living area, and everybody here pays peanuts. Highest job I had paid 26/hr which was just enough for me to pay my bills and buy myself lunch once a month.
I know I can do these jobs, and I know I'm at least mostly qualified for them, but because I don't have 5+ years of experience I have to lie on my resume just to make it past the bots. I've had four interviews in the last five years for a job even remotely related to my degree.
I'm just tired of this stupid game we all have to play just to hopefully be slightly less miserable.
