Hey all, I made this account just to get this out there.
I used to work this retail job in an airport, worked there three months, busted my ass for them. I would always show up early, stay late, fill in for who ever I could. On top of this I'm going to school full time, so on days that I worked, I would be away from home more than 12+ hours. Anyways, I had a midterm project coming up and I had to take a week off of work, (there was a required amount of hours in school for this week). I told my boss more than a month in advanced.
The Friday before my midterm week, I got very sick, worried for my health and the health of my coworkers, I called in. Well the Monday of my midterm project, I got a call from my boss, firing me for “not being reliable enough” and claimed that my call outs where a problem. (KEEP IN MIND) I only ever missed work do to calling out ONCE, the other times I “Called out” were situations like the parking lot at my school flooding 3 feet deep, or my car LITERALLY FREEZING to the ground. HOWEVER I still made it to work early those days and stayed late.
At this point, I had to waste gas to return my badge, was completely disrespected when doing so, yet they keep my posts and photos up on their social media pages, (those posts have the most likes and exposure). I've reported the posts multiple times to no prevail.
I have no idea what to do. Thanks for hearing me out.
