I don’t think I’m looking for advice but it is welcomed.
I’m aware the market is terrible rn. Especially looking for jobs in marketing, sales, office jobs. I’m grateful I have a job. But I’ve been at this company for almost 8 months and have been misled.
The initial interview was for me to assist in the digital marketing and help with social media and website. However it’s in the AE space and I have been working on the proposals which is heavily involved with this marketing in industry. It was listed as one of the duties but they downplayed it throughout the interview process. So here I am doing 99% these proposals which are high stress and take up majority of energy and time. I’ve been working overtime to try make the deadlines. While trying to squeeze in the digital campaigns which aren’t even really campaigns at this point just spontaneous social media posts. So it’s like 95% proposals and 5% digital split between other miscellaneous. (Data management, snack runs, events)
I rip my hair out and am so stressed and not passionate. I’m looking for a new role but the market is very competitive rn so at least I have a role.
I just wish they wouldn’t have led with the digital marketing and are not even investing a new crm or anything for what was discussed in the interview. If they would have shown the involvement of what this part of the role entailed it would have been alittle more clear.
Also I know as marketing you have to “wear many hats” but for this role I feel like I’m losing my digital marketing skills. (Analysis, campaign management) also my boss wants me to be invested in the industry (nose deep into the company). They were upset when I had covid and couldn’t come in.
I wanna try to take courses to stay up to date but I’m so stressed and burnt out by the end of the day. I just feel lost and anxious.
