Wtf.. can a boss fire you for one thing and tell you it was actually something else a week after the fact?

My health condition gotten bad again and I felt like I was going to faint, I told my boss I have to go home and she told me that if I left to “never come back” so I did. I even texted her afterwards offering her a chance to change her mind. Keep in mind, this is a fast food place. Now I’m bedridden, my body strains when it gets up. (I’m going to the doctor, I talked to some people and my syndrome align with P.O.T.S). Now she’s texting me that ACTUALLY I got fired for upsetting the owner’s friend by being rude (the friend in question came in basically demanding things like she owned the place, being rude the whole time, her knowing the owners makes sense now) But it’s been a whole week, unemployment stuff was sent the day after I was fired, so now I’m fearing…

But it’s been a whole week, unemployment stuff was sent the day after I was fired, so now I’m fearing that this is going to mess with the unemployment while I wait for help when she mentioned non of this at all the day of or even when I texted her. Apparently she “meant to” based on the text, but that’s something that should’ve been said a whole week ago right?
