I’ve been noticing a lot of businesses start taking out cashiers and using self checkouts. Hell my last recent job was a bakery/food service nd we were told “yes you can help and talk to customers but your duties need to be done first and as a priority. Like dawg, people come into stores physically so they can interact with everyone else coming into the same place. It really pissed me off but maybe also cause I like talking to guests, helping them with questions, that sorta of stuff, but I can see times are changing. Some people do come in and want little to no interaction of employees but I think the just like interactions, or maybe I’m assuming.
My point though to all this is how I think we are going to lose a lot of retail workers, workers in other fields too. It made me really thinking about what I’m doing with my life.
Not trying to type so much cause people prolly won’t even read this lol but I highly suggest to workers who work said jobs that can be replaced, you can be replaced too, don’t put all your eggs in one basket. I’m getting myself back into school soon, which I have my own personal beliefs about the American education system but seems like the only best route. Now that I’m saying it out loud it sounds kinda dumb so maybe I’m just rambling but hopefully I made some kind of sense.
