I work in construction (engineer/adjacent) and my new employer of around 4-5 months has discovered a pattern that I don’t answer my work phone until around 6-7am the following morning if they text/call me after I leave my project. My supervisor told me to start checking it outside of work. Last night at around 6:30pm I saw 2 missed calls and a text “Phone Check”. Am I insane to think my employer shouldn’t have access to me while I’m not working? Not to mention, I’m also an hourly employee.
