I have a 2nd job that has a habit of cancelling shifts last minute, asking you to start 1-2 hours late, send you home up to 3 hours early, and when its busy you can go 10 hours without break. they won't even tell you when you finish unless you keep asking them. I don't want to work there anymore. I have another job and university, a 2 hour shift is not worth the time or money to travel. A 10 hour shift with no break is not worth the mental health. I only get paid 20 aud (12 usd) per hour (minimum wage is 21 aud) and they advertise as “cash on hand” so theres no penalty rates, or anything protecting me as an employee, and they treat everyone like crap.
I worked there before because it was so hard to find a job here, and it was managable as I was just working at the time, and left when uni started. They texted me asking for help 3 weeks ago which is why I came back, and said i could stay for 4 weeks.
Today, they asked me to start 2 hours later so my shift would only be 3 hours long (granted they dont send me home early) They have my pay from this week and last week and I have one week left before I go. I dont know if I should straight up tell them I don't want to work anymore or just wait it out to at least get my money.
