Coworker physically attacked by customer and told she can’t call the Police

This week my coworker was punched in the face by some customer because my coworker was explaining the company's policy. The customer punched her in the face. Management apologized to the violent customer and proceeded to make a policy exception for them. My coworker was then told that she isn't allowed to call the police. This is insane.
