Let me start off by saying my work is on “Flexible PTO” which is the biggest load of crap ever. It's a scam. We have had problems in the past with getting approval for PTO but fought together and things were pretty good for awhile. However…I put in PTO for the day before Thanksgiving and the Monday after Thanksgiving and for the 4 days between Christmas and New Year. I submitted this request exactly one month ago. Not approved yet. Talked to manager today and he brought it up. We are in the middle of a project that we started AFTER I requested those days. He tells me he can't approve my days until we finish this project. A. My PTO shouldn't hinge on if we finish a project or not B. We didn't even have this project when I put my request in. C. Someone else on the same project is taking off two weeks in the middle of Novemeber, already approved. I'm seething.
