I have a deep, extreme fear of one of my managers. How to go about addressing this with my general manager? So I have a very deep fear of my assistant general manager (I work part time at a pizzeria) that turns my anxiety up to 11, even with my medication. “Karen” treats me like a child and an idiot. I’m a substitute teacher and I wouldn’t dare to treat my students the way Karen treats me. She’s very impatient when I make the smallest mistake. She never points out what I do right but is ready to chew me out for even the tiniest mistake. She’s also been “testing” or threatening to “test” my knowledge of the store and its policies lately, which I’m not sure anyone else has to do. She doesn’t take time to teach me the right way to do anything, just yells at me an abbreviated version of what she thinks is right and expects me to get it right away. Worst part is, I appear to be the only one that Karen treats this way, as she is sweet as pie to literally everyone else. I don’t want to go to work when she’s on the schedule but I despise need the money.

My general manager is occasionally strict but overall a cool guy. Most of my coworkers are pretty cool too although some are more approach than others. How can I bring up this topic with people who can do something about it, so I don’t have a panic every single day at work? For the record, I only want to quit as a last resort.
