My shift length is 15mins shy of qualifying for a lunch break. Can I do anything?

I’ve been working at my current job for over a month. In my state, 5h shift = 30 min lunch, my shift is 4h 45 mins. This is the first time it’s happened and I don’t want it to happen again, it seems obviously shady and underhanded to me. Do I ask to stay an extra 15 mins so I get lunch? What should I say to the scheduling person, as I want to ask that this doesn’t happen in the future?
