Can my job fire me for forgetting to promote things?

Basically, I work at AMC theaters and Its been maybe a month since I started, they are really heavy on pushing promos like the Halloween bucket and the new Taylor Swift stuff, also they insist on you upselling every single thing on the menu to the guest. Yesterday, one of the managers pulled all of the concessions workers into the back room for a group huddle and basically told us if you forget to upsell and promote and ask members to sign up for the stubs card, they will give us warnings and fire us. Is that within their legal rights to do that?
