Tips for negotiating starting salary at non-profits?

Happy Sunday y’all. I am about to submit an application package to a non-profit. My skill set and experience is tailor-made for the position, and I even worked for this non-profit for a year in a position directly below this job listing. I’m going to include letters of rec from former students, their parents, and my direct supervisor. I left on good terms, always had stellar reviews from both my direct and regional supervisors, and was told I was way over qualified for that position through out my time there. I even had directors fighting over me to be at their centers. Despite all that the first time around I was offered the absolute minimum listed pay range. When I countered with 10% more I was told they couldn’t budge and I sheepishly didn’t push back and accepted it. I’m familiar with non-profits paying less, but the experience/skill to salary…

I’m familiar with non-profits paying less, but the experience/skill to salary ratio can be even more ludicrous than with giant corporate structures.

What are some tips on pushing back on the low balling in this sphere?
