I talked with 19 of them (I know it's not a large data sample, but they are the only ones that answered all the questions)
Evey single of them has at least a degree in software engineering (high level university, all except two had their sw engineering degree during the 10s), some of them has a specialization or another degree.
14 are not satisfied or really not satisfied of their actual salary.
4 are satisfied or really satisfied of the salary. Of these 4:
– 1 works in the family company, his relatives were extremely wealthy even before, his career didn't influence family incomes.
– 1 has a top tier job even for his high cost of life residence (Bay Area), but works constantly >60 hours a week, no breaks and unsatisfied with life in general except the economical situation
– 1 has an high incomes job, but she's in a toxic environment and had serious not specified problems (relocated in Germany)
– 1 has both an high incomes low stress job, very satisfied of everything.
1 is unemployed. He was satisfied of his previous salary.
Definition of high incomes = more than average for their position in their state (a high salary in Germany is low in California and so on)
I am not satisfied of my salary but I didn't know that it wa so common
