Shift lower leadership had a blowout on a customer, I reported it to higher up.

My “superior”, had a psychotic blowout on a customer. Then immediately retold the story and tried to convince me of their narrative of what happened when it happened right in front of me. Blatantly lying. I reported it to their supervisor and wondering what steps to take before next shift, as the toxic “leader” and I will be working together very soon again. This “leader” is very petty, and is likely to hit me with the “why did you snitch” question when they find I reported it? (As dumb and high schoolish as that sounds) Would you record this interaction, or how would you handle knowing walking into confrontation? Looking for advice!
