My hybrid employer is requiring us to be in the office the week of Thanksgiving and Christmas with no flexibility for travel

Last week I asked my boss if I could plan to travel the weekend before Thanksgiving and work remotely that week since the flight was literally $30 the weekend before and it is $500 one way on Wednesday after work (day before Thanksgiving). We’re hybrid normally, just switched from 3 days in to 4 days in. So she knows I’m perfectly capable of working remotely, since I do it every single week. All of my family lives far away, I’m not sure if I can afford the $500 flight so I am looking at spending Thanksgiving alone because of this. To make it worse, HR told me during the interviews for this role that we always did remote work the week of holidays (I specifically asked about this because the job doesn’t have much PTO).
