Found out about an upcoming layoff – what should I do to prepare?

I found out that I will be laidoff next week. I’ve had a good run with this company but my boss and I haven’t been seeing eye to eye lately. They will use the economy as an excuse, I assume. No idea about severance. What steps should I take to prepare for the layoff? How do I handle this in the smartest way possible to optimize anything they’ll possibly send my way? Thanks!
