What do you think of the cold calling jobs that only pay you when you are on green active button?

This job is a cold calling sales company with back to back calls, no rest in between and only pay as long as you’re on active green button. They pay per hour but wouldn’t the hourly rate go down based on the time you’re active and engaged in the call? Is this way of work unethical?
