the trials and tribulations of old age workers

55-year-old single man in country/rural Victoria, Australia (semi retired) I'm a bloke with no kids, house/cars/bikes are all paid off had an interview about 3 months back for a new job. Agricultural i have 2 x trades, worked in underground mining/auto elec/hydraulics/water i didn't get it, but asked about harvest season work as a casual (now) i got a call from a labour hire mob, we talk and agree on a per hour casual (+25%) rate in oz dollars i get a call from this labour hire contractor saying they can't pay the rate we verbally agreed a week ago. in Australia, not USA so minimum wage here is $23.23 per hour, plus 25% casual rates (no holidays) if i don't work for them they don't make any money, i don't understand why they would do this. they called me on request, im so angry they are trying this BS
