I've been working for my company as a contractor for about a year now and I've been lied to on so many occasions. Not only am I paid shit (I was a new grad when I was hired) but they literally doubles the workload I was assigned when I was hired with absolutely no pay increase.
Not only that I was meant to get technical experience in some niche aspects of my job but have been lied to time and time again about training. I get told a day then they cancel and it doesn't happen for months.
I was fine with this for a while thanking the freedom I get in my role until recently. Thats when someone reached out to me for my freelance work and they were ecstatic about my rates thinking they were low for the quality of my work. Meanwhile in my day job I get paid less per hour and get nitpicked day in and out about absolute nonsense that is used to hold me back from further training.
For reference this isn't even an American company either, im a Canadian working for a Portuguese outfit.
