Guess all good things must come to an end

I started my job a little over a year ago and have loved it the whole time. I enjoy the work for the most part, it allows me to engage with people who are usually pleased to hear from me, the work is easy and somewhat tedious and I have tons of downtime. We have excellent insurance, rollover pto that pays out when you quit, work from home capability during inclement weather and family situations, and last year they did a whole employee appreciation week where we all got gifts every day for a week and that was amazing.

Well as the title says, all good things must come to an end eventually. They made some announcements at the meeting this morning. They’re changing my work role, taking away what I love and making me keep the part I dislike plus adding new responsibilities, they removed yearly raises despite telling me during the hiring process that yearly raises were standard, pto is no longer paying out when you quit, everyone is being called back to the office except during inclement weather, no employee appreciation week, and to top it all off they’re changing our insurance next renewal to just pay everyone a check each month to be used to pay for our own policy. Wtf. I’m not even sure if I want to stay here now, they’re taking away almost everything that makes my job enjoyable. Still better than my last job, but still. May be time to start looking elsewhere.

This is one hell of a shitty Monday morning.
