Boss is retaliating against my disapproved leave of absence(s) for which I requested to help me improve in the company.
1st Leave of absence was rejected for office politics reasons. I guess they thought I could magically move up in the company only using their rules. But this isn't really the important part. What follows is all a downward slope.
So one day I left early without telling manager and this started a huge game of whack-a-mole with company policy and the usual office politics. After I left that day I requested a 2nd leave of absence, AGAIN after they pretty much begged me to not quit.
So management seemed ok with me leaving for a few weeks. Until…….(they decided in the middle of my leave to terminate me).
They now took my next paycheck and took back the paid vacation I took a month ago. Now to be clear, this is paid vacation already taken and had gotten an actual paycheck with PTO on it 1 week after the vacation concluded. Boss is claiming my attendance issue that I had (leaving early), and my disapproved leave (which they disapproved of it after I already took the leave.)
Is this illegal to steal past vacation that already was cashed out and payrolled? They are garnishing my last check with the vacation time I took. Our policy is that you cannot miss work 1 week before or after the vacation. I cleared this by at least 3 weeks. The boss is claiming unlimited time on that.
