Entry Level tech is treated like shit while being told their education doesn’t matter.

I’m trying not to give a lot of details but, it’s insulting. Myself and a team of 3 more manage a business of 5.5k employees and 10.1+k underage customers at a private entity. We make 18$ an hour and have more laws and sensitive information than the average tech department. Our local McDonald’s and Walmarts are starting higher than 22 and they don’t have to deal with the high level of troubleshooting and SPii that our position requires. We can see everything from lawyers to nurses to hr- No employee can hide stuff from us on the network (for the most part). Worse, there’s no training! None. No processes and even more no education on those laws. Nothing. 18$ an hour. Don’t get me wrong, I love the job, but the entire system literally collapses without my team and we’re told we’re at the top of our pay grade. Most…

Don’t get me wrong, I love the job, but the entire system literally collapses without my team and we’re told we’re at the top of our pay grade. Most of us have degrees and certifications – they weren’t even factored in.
