Today I was fired for insubordination because I began speaking while a “big wig” was speaking. She threatened to terminate me if I spoke again and out of reflex I did because what the person was accusing me of was false. Literally every time I would defend myself, she would hit me with another false claim. When she realized I could prove that everything she was saying wasn’t true is when she threatened my job. The person came to me very aggressively and it made me uncomfortable. Imagine doing your job correctly , recent promotion and some person you’ve never spoke to before approaches you with the most outlandish accusations. I thought she was reaching out to congratulate me. Work has been slow so I believe they wanted to fire a few people anyway. I just don’t understand the purpose of using lies since I live in an at will state. I’ve been working since the age of 15 and was terminated for the first time at 40. It made me realize that working in corporate America is a joke. All of these people tell you to work hard, show up on time, be professional and it’s pointless. Now I have to explain a termination during a time where a decent job is hard to find.
Late in life but this is my villain origin story LOL. I’m playing the game from here on out. I will do the least amount of work that I can to get by, I will use these companies up for all that I can. This is the first time I’ve been terminated but definitely not the first time I’ve been treated unfairly. Definitely not the first time someone has used their position to treat me as if my life does not matter.
