I made a post couple days ago to highlight how little time we have to ourselves because capitalism forces us to work more than half of the year. I want to expand upon this and provide this article I found. Between overtime, multiple jobs, school, raising a family etc, we are only allotted 96-100+ days off, and around 250+ days laboring. I said this is slavery, not mentioning that we're grossly underpaid.
A lot of bootlickers disagreed. They've always had benefits or knew someone who does. They claim we are offered plenty of time away. Please understand you are the minority.
1 in 4 Americans do not have PTO/holidays off. This article says that the average private sector worker in America receives only 10 paid days and 6 paid holidays, “which is small change compared to what workers in other advanced economies get.”
Its wording can be too forgiving though. Before that, it says “However, American workers have to rely on their employers to set the minimum, meaning they may not get any paid time off.”
Do we have to rely on employers to set the minimum, or are we forced to through corporations lobbying against the working class's best interest and union busting? Are we relying on our employers to give us benefits and rights, or are we at their Capitalistic, profit driven mercy?
