I’m a contractor in healthcare. I do 3 month contracts and then I leave (or sometimes I get extended).
My most recent job was at a local Kaiser. The place was a total shit show. There were so many safety issues and so many management abuses it was beyond insane. From top to bottom this was a disaster waiting to happen.
When I made mention of these issues, my contract was cancelled. The reason given was “He can’t handle high volume and co workers are uneasy about the comments he’s made.” Yet in the same breath they said “I’m a stellar tech and very talented.”
Basically they let me go for bringing attention to a very unsafe work environment.
I would report to state but they’ll do nothing, and JCAHO is corrupt. I’d sue, but they can cancel my contract at any time.
I’ve never had a good time working at any Kaiser. This is the last time I’ll give it a chance. They’re an insanely corrupt and cruel employer. And I’m sorry , but sometimes the employees are just as bad. They went on strike for more safety and when someone says this place is a safety hazard, those same employees report the comments as making them “uneasy”.
Stockholm syndrome I guess.
