Boss’s who scream and throw things

.. And co-workers who defend them? I just started a new job in a medical office. Small office. There are three of us. I am usually in the back and after seeing a patient, the doctor (Podiatrist) comes back and complains. He rants to me and I am his punching bag. This is fine by me because he didn't take his work out on me until Friday. He ran out of gloves and came back yelling. I am new and don't know where gloves are.

I found them and all was well until I left the door propped open to a patient room in the back.

He came back talking through his teeth and said “Don't ever do that again.”. He was a few inches away from my face pointing at me.

I mentioned this to my friend at the front desk and she said “He wasn't really mad. You'll know when he's mad because he will slam both his hands down on the desk or throw something.”

She said he also “Uses the F word and screams loud enough for patients to hear.”

I was told by the staff “Don't let him bother you he's just overwhelmed and needs to retire.”.

I have been here a month. Would you tolerate this job (really good pay close to home)?
