Am I wrong to leave work early all the time?

I’m an RN in Southern California. I work a very niche specialty. I’m scheduled to work 4 10 hour shifts a week, but it’s very feast or famine. One week I could be working 4 10 hour days with no breaks, and the next week we have no cases and I milk the clock for 6 hours and leave at 1230. I tell myself I’m contributing to my work-life balance, but I can’t help feeling guilty cause I’m leaving money on the table. I guess I just wanna hear reassurance and that he guilt is from some capitalist brain washing that I’ve endured my whole life.
