I used to work for that stupid company a while ago – I received an email 4 days ago basically saying :
« We understand that the compromised data is currently not out in public, but we have been told that the threat actor will release it if we don’t make a ransom payment, and whilst we don’t take this lightly, it is not an unusual threat as part of such Cyber incidents. Please be reassured that we are continuing to work with experts and the relevant authorities to resolve this matter. That is why we are writing to you to let you know and provide you with the information here as to how you can take steps if you have concerns (see section 4 of this letter).
The data’s stolen were
Social security number, bank account details, salary, frequency of payment ( meaning payslips I guess )
I am fuming – they are not able to provide with other informations. They offer a identity thief protection for a year via Equifax which is not enough for me. It can litterally occur in 10 years if someone get access to it.
So glad I’ve left these idiots -what shall I do guys ? I’m freakin out and they do not communicate other than the email they sent. Have to take few days out of work to sort this out which is not even close to be sort out
