In this movie Elysium, the main character Max Da Costa (Matt Damon) is accidentally locked inside a radiation chamber and given a lethal dose of gamma radiation. He is told by a robot he has ten days to live.
How is this any different than right now? People die all the time at work. They dump a few coins into an account for their orphans and put a new worker in their place. Workers make shit wages and can’t afford necessities already. The corporations already dump waste and destroy the environment.
