Long story short my child was suddenly hospitalized and I called my boss the day before I was scheduled to work to let her know I would not be able to come in for the rest of the week and the week or two after. I did not know how long I would be in the hospital with my child. She told me I couldn't call in and wanted me to work my shifts anyway. I did not go to work.
A couple days later my co worker texted me the new schedule for the upcoming week and she had put me on it. She did not call to check in if I was ready to be put back on the schedule , even though I told her it was going to be a week maybe two. (Maybe I should have called and kept her in the loop but my job was the least of my concerns considering my child was very sick). I put my two weeks in that week.
My job was extremely short staffed. I loved my coworkers and I was a good hard worker. She had yelled at me for things that were minor and blamed me for things that were not my fault in the past. Needless to say I took several of my coworkers with me and she doesn't have a pot to piss in now.
