Social media and smart phones as the enemy of antiwork (counter-intuitively)

I'm curious whether people think social media is friend or foe to the antiwork movement. You would think it would be a 'friend' or facilitator to progress. We can share information and organize much more easily than in the past. But in practice, and in our actual work lives, is it really? All my co-workers are obsessed with their phones and you can feel the suspicion, even contempt just below the surface. Nobody trusts each other and nobody really communicates. I feel like the phones and social media are a big part of the reason why. We've learned to distrust others and can't cooperate with people who have different backgrounds/opinions, even when it would be to our benefit. The smallest cue allows you to be categorized as not part of my in-group. And this is happening at exactly the time when cooperation is needed. Politicians and business leaders exploit this.…
