Sup ya'll!
I'm in MA.
I'm in school for one more semester in the Spring and then I graduate. Currently I work three days a week (Tues, Thurs, Sat). There are members of our staff who only work two days a week (both of them only work Sun, Mon). This is a barely above minimum wage job and it has no real influence on my life it's just a means to make money because I live alone in an apartment and have to pay my bills while I'm in school.
Starting in January, I'll likely have to be only available to work Friday and Saturday (16 hours). Fridays are typically fully staffed so I feel like they'll only be able to put me on Saturday. The manager has expressed that anyone working one day a week will be let go (they let someone go recently for that reason, I guess). I feel like despite being available to work two days, she'll consider it useless to have me staffed and let me go. I have been saving money where I can so if I am let go I'll be fine to make it through at least the semester, but I was curious if being let go for this reason is a cause for unemployment. This manager has previously given me a write-up citing that I use the bathroom too often so…that's the type of character we're dealing with here.
Any thoughts on the matter in general?
