Ive worked in a restaurant for about a year, started as dish, cook and currently expeditor which pays even less then when I was a cook in hopes that I can be promoted to waiter. Ive been told multiple times even by managers how I’m one of the hardest workers, how manages ask me to do the hard work or extra cleaning cause I’m the only one who’s gonna actually do it right or one of the few who cover positions or can work multiple stations at the same time when short all while they promote a bunch of younger people less experienced in the front as waiters or runners, they promoted a hostess as a food runner when I was working as a cook when they first started, I’m still stuck covering positions and working as expoditor cause the back is so short and over worked making crumbs compaired to any waiter or food runner. Not only do I not get promoted for the hard work I’ve put in but now I’m also the restaurants bitch, I’m looking for new jobs now and learned my lesson no longer am I gonna work 14 hour shifts and give everything I have to a company that doesn’t give a shit about my work ethic and instead some eye candy to look at when being served.
