Veterans Day not off and no holiday pay

I just started a new job 3 months ago (non profit low income housing), and their policy is that you don’t get any of your time off until you’ve been with the company at least 3 months. Tomorrow is Veterans Day and while I can work it (begrudgingly) they refuse to state any sort of holiday pay and almost don’t acknowledge the holiday at all. The kicker is we work in social services, so a grand majority of the places we would need to access for our clients are closed. Even the company that manages the low income apartments we work at will be closed with pay. I’ve asked both my boss, their boss, and the director of our department and all have said “yeah we just have to come in.” Would anyone be willing to give some advice on this, or otherwise just tell me I’m overreacting? Thank you!
