Management goes on and on about how great we are, then refuses to give us anything

Just the other day, we had a meeting where they went on for a good 15 minutes about how hard our job is, how lucky they are to have us, how much we have to do, and how great of a job we do. Yet they refuse to pay us any more (I make a lousy $43k/year), they refuse to be flexible around holiday remote days, they refuse to be flexible around remote work AT ALL even though most of us don’t need to be coming in every single day and the vast majority of what we do can be done just as well from home. We had to fight just to get the chance to WORK REMOTELY on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Meanwhile, my mom was shocked that we don’t just get the day off. We have to come in the day immediately after Christmas and the entire week between Christmas and New Years and use PTO if we want time off. Meanwhile, you just know upper management will be working remotely around the holidays and getting to spend time with their families, not have to come in and sit in a dingy office THE DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS. Who wants to do that? They just want to make sure we remember we’re on the bottom.
