When I first started learning about labor inequality it blew my mind. For example at my current job we make .4% of what the CEO makes. Not even a full percent.
My thought was “most people must not know this. Why else would they be so content to doing the BEST they can all the time.” However I have come to realize that they do know but are unwilling to even get mad about it.
My example
—we are in a meeting and they play a video of a call a coworker took. They ripped that workers efforts apart saying she didn’t show enough empathy. My comment was maybe she found out how much more a ceo makes than her and that’s why she was having a hard time being emotionally available. This was not taken well. The leaders response was “we signed up for this job so..” like anybody wants to work their life away for less than one percent? We as the backbone of a company shouldn’t just accept our fates. The fact that nobody else even gave a shit either tells me they already knew we are being used or just don’t fucking care. I can’t help but think this spineless behavior is exactly why things are the way they are. I’m actually starting to believe until we deserve this fucked up life. If so many are unwilling to even just say something how can we expect change? Far to many people content with shitty life. Hell there are to many who are upset but still do/say Nothing!
