New Managers Hired with No Experience

This past year, my job has been making some baffling decisions regarding our department managers. The Cafe manager was transferred to the Aquatics department despite having NO prior experience as a lifeguard. It took her 3 MONTHS to pass the swim test in 4 FEET of water. The assistant manager of the Cafe was promised the manager position, but instead it was given to a team member from the Concierge desk. This past year, my job has been making some baffling decisions regarding our department managers.

  • The Cafe manager was transferred to the Aquatics department despite having NO prior experience as a lifeguard. It took her 3 MONTHS to pass the swim test in 4 FEET of water.

  • The assistant manager of the Cafe was promised the manager position, but instead it was given to a team member from the Concierge desk. She has never worked in the food industry, doesn’t know how to operate a register, and does not have a food operator license. But she is a better choice for Cafe manager than the Assistant Manager that has been there for over a year.

  • The assistant manager position for the Aquatics department was also given to a team member from the Concierge desk. Once again, she has NO experience as a lifeguard and she has never worked at a pool before. The previous assistant manager had left on maternity leave and when she returned, she transferred to the Child Center to stay with her baby. She had told management that once her child had grown some more, she would like her assistant manager position back. But upper management decided it would be better to have a new, untrained manager instead.

It seems like there is a lot of favoritism going on in the club. Some Game of Thrones vibes. Is there anything I can do to let corporate know? Or is this just something we’ll have to live with?
