Recently learned that in Colorado, workers are required a paid 10 minute break for shifts lasting 2-6 hours and 2 paid breaks for shifts lasting 6-10 hours. If you don't get a break, the employer needs to pay an extra 10 minutes of wages for each missed break. In the four months I've worked for the company, I haven't gotten any paid breaks. Pulled my time sheets, did the math, as of today, I've missed 63 breaks. So with my pay rate, my employer owes me about $200. Doesn't feel worth getting a lawyer over or anything, but it's money that would make a difference for me. Plus, I'm just going to miss more breaks the longer this goes on. Is there anything to do? Or should I just accept that I'm making a few bucks less each shift than I should be?
